Abstract

PdxV2O5.nH2O thin films (0.00 ≤ x ≤ 1.094 mol%) have been prepared using sol gel dip coating technique.  X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), thermoelectric power (S) and electrical conductivity (σ) of PdxV2O5.nH2O thin films fabricated by sol gel technique (colloid route) were studied in air and hydrogen. H PdxV2O5.nH2O thin films exhibit a change in their structural, thermal and electrical properties when exposed to hydrogen. Our results showed that the thermoelectric performance of the PdxV2O5.nH2O thin films has been enhanced when measured in hydrogen rather than in air by percentage ranging between 1.2 to about 35%.
